At Wagners, our Multiple Combination Truck Drivers are the backbone of our business, holding the responsibility for the delivery of a quality product every time.

Our Transport division is currently seeking an experienced and safety-minded MC driver for long haul driving within the Townsville and North QLD region. This position will be responsible for the delivery of Cement in powder tankers, ISO Cement tanks and some general freight across areas of Townsville and West QLD.

We will be seeking applicants who have a strong commitment to safe work practices as well as:

  • A safe work ethic;
  • Current MC licence;
  • Blue/White Card (Construction);
  • An experienced driver from a single right through to road train;
  • Experience in long-distance driving and o/night in trucks;
  • Experience in log-book, delivery docket and day sheet management;
  • Powder pumping experience (desired); and
  • A friendly and positive attitude.
  • Additionally, an MSIC clearance along with a high-risk forklift licence or side lifter experience will be highly advantageous.

Delivery Driver – Toowoomba

Due to continued growth of our Reinforcing Steel Department, we are currently looking for Delivery Drivers.

Duties

  • Delivery of Steel, Mesh, Fabrications and other associated products to our customers
  • Use of a crane equipped body truck
  • Loading and unloading the product at local and regional construction sites
  • Yard work or production work as required

Skills and Experience

  • Current HR drivers licence
  • LF (Forklift) ticket
  • DG dogging (preferable)
  • Delivery driving experience

Workshop Manager – Toowoomba

Wagners Toowoomba Workshop provides the company with a competitive edge manufacturing, servicing, repairing and maintaining the full range of mobile and fixed plant and equipment used in the company’s operations.  Due to internal staff movements, we are currently seeking a Manager for this facility.

About the role

The role of the Workshop Manager is to ensure the Workshop delivers efficient and economic service to its customers without compromising on quality, personnel safety and environmental performance.  In addition to the services provided internally, the Workshop has been increasingly providing services to external parties and it is expected that the successful applicant will continue this trend.

Activities undertaken in the Workshop include Fabrication, Machining, Sandblasting and Painting, Scheduled Servicing, Repairs and Maintenance, Electrical, Rebuilding and Procurement and Warehousing.  Equipment in the company’s operations includes Concrete and Crushing Plants, Earthmoving Equipment, Transport Equipment, Light Vehicles and Manufacturing Equipment.

Duties

  • Supervision of day-to-day operations of a large team
  • Provide professional and technical guidance to ensure work quality and cost budgets are met
  • Continuous improvement and lean management
  • Responsible for financial management of the Workshop including setting budgets and profit and loss performance
  • Increasing contribution to the company’s financial performance by increasing services to external parties
  • Working directly with HR and Payroll in management of personnel
  • Ensuring strong safety culture with the Workshop
  • Provide maintenance support and advice to project sites (travel involved)

  • Trade qualification in a mechanical, metal or electrical trade or relevant professional qualification
  • Previous experience in a Commercial Workshop (advantageous)

Due to continuous expansion, Wagners are currently seeking an experienced Agitator Driver on a permanent full-time basis for our Narangba plant.

This position is responsible for the safe operation of our Mack Agitator Trucks for the delivery and discharging of pre-mixed concrete to our customers. On the job training will be provided to the successful applicant.

Wagners Precast division is seeking a Boilermaker/Fitter to be involved in exciting Precast work for our Cross-River Rail project.

The Cross-River Rail project is a 10.2km rail line running from Dutton Park to Bowen Hills in Brisbane, this unique project includes 5.9 kilometres of twin tunnels which descend under the Brisbane River and Brisbane CBD. The tunnels provide an additional connection between the Northside and Southside of the city aiming to greatly increase commuter train capacities and ease road traffic congestion.

The successful candidate/s will be responsible for but not limited to:

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Maintenance and repair of carousel, batch plant equipment and supporting equipment
  • Fabrication of components to plan
  • Ensuring housekeeping is maintained and replacement of tools and equipment to designated areas
  • Welding and flame cutting
